Dear sports fans, sport connects!
Sport creates community and togetherness.
Powerchair Hockey is a fast-paced sport for people with physical disability, which triggers strong emotions in fans, supporters and players. Using nimble and very agile power wheelchairs, five players per team fight for a fair victory. An example of this type of sport, which is derived from floor hockey is demonstrated by the speed and agility with which the sometimes filigree players dynamise the game.
The Powerchair Hockey can be played regardless of gender and age. Years of consistent training and the necessary discipline lead to international success. Due to the participation of young and old as well as female and male athletes and their different disabilities, this sport is very diverse and thus reflects our society.

The 2022 World Championship is one of the upcoming highlights in Switzerland led by Wheelchair Sport Switzerland. A total of ten teams from all over the world will compete for the world championship title. A top-class sporting event, attractive for the spectators and full of suspense, with lots of joy of playing and numerous highlights is assured. An event that promotes greater cohesion and diversity and shows that sport is accessible to everyone.

The word power does not only describe the impact of the power wheelchairs, but also signifies the intensity, excitement and energy of the individual athletes and the respective teams. They are the distinguishing features of this sport and that is what makes this sport so energetic and dynamic.
Sport, community and integration are close to my heart, that’s why I’m looking forward to this event! I recommend everyone to support and visit the World Championship 2022. I wish everyone a lot of fun and many exciting sporting moments!

Quote Flurina Marti:

“The Powerchair Hockey World Cup 2022 in Switzerland is for every Player a big Dream – exactly the same was it for me with the World Floorball Championships 2019 in Neuchâtel. Therefore I will be happy to support this Project and hope, that all the games for the World Cup 2022 in our home country will be a memorable adventure for all participants.”
