The IWAS Powerchair Hockey World Championship is the most important international competition for powerchair hockey athletes.

The 2022 World Cup will be the first time that such a competition will feature 10 teams from around the world.

This is a great achievement that shows how the sport has evolved over the past decade and also gives all nations ranked by the qualification system and world rankings a chance to participate, even if the 2020 European Regional Championship is canceled due to the canceled due to COVID pandemic.

The World Championship will take place in Nottwill/Sursee from August 9th to 15th, 2022 and is organized under the patronage of IWAS and IPCH by Wheelchair Sports Switzerland and the Swiss Powerchair Hockey Organization.

Accommodation for the team delegation and training location

The team delegation will be accommodated in the Hotel Semparchersee .
The hotel is part of the Swiss Paraplegic Center (SPZ).

A high degree of sensitivity in terms of accessibility for wheelchair users is guaranteed.

Officials and volunteers will also be accommodated by the local organizing committee at Hotel Semparchersee or another officially recognized hotel nearby.
Supporters and all non-accredited persons cannot book or stay in this hotel.

The World Championships will take place in the Stadthalle Sursee, in the triple gymnasium. The main hall (triple hall, 2000 m2) has a capacity of 3200 people. A spacious stage, the grandstand and other rooms round off the well-thought-out infrastructure. The perfect location for the Powerchair Hockey tournaments.
